Linton-Naringhil Rd – former Church of England Vicarage

Directly ahead is the house that was purchased in 1913 by the Church of England for use as its vicarage. Linton did not have a Church of England Vicar living in the town until the parish headquarters shifted there in 1911, necessitating the need for a residence.

This house was originally owned by Mr George Bolte (a relative of former Victorian Premier Sir Henry Bolte), who was a parishioner and owner at that time of the pastoral run ‘Linton Park.’ He had built it after his house on Linton Park burnt down. The sale price was £550, £300 of which was raised from the parishioners.

This house is now a private residence.

Cross the Linton-Naringhil Road and walk up Nelson Road
