Norwegians’ love for skiing is well-known, and even in the northernmost town, having a ski lift isn’t surprising.
The new ski slope, opened in 2024, replaced an older one. It’s suitable for both children and adults, offering a 455m training distance. The slope enables official ski races, attracting athletes to Svalbard.
Open to the public, tickets are available via Svalbard Turn, with volunteer-operated lifts used for ski classes at Longyearbyen Skole.
