The Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III expands his kitchen facilities and has a huge stone soup bowl placed in his garden. He also made more sensible decisions and laid the foundations for the Museum Island with the Altes Museum, which opened in 1830. Four more museums followed over the next hundred years: the Neues Museum, the Alte Nationalgalerie, the Bodemuseum and the Pergamonmuseum.
